Koos Family Vineyard Pinot Noir

Koos Family Vineyard Pinot Noir

Koos Family Vineyard was planted in June of 2000 on two acres of sandy loam soil in the Sonoma Coast appellation. After extensive ground preparation to create an optimal growing environment, the rows were oriented North to South allowing the vines full and even sun during the growing season. The vineyard yields are closely managed with an emphasis on balance, ripeness and character.

Tasting Notes

Classically styled, intense aromas of bright red fruit are at the forefront, with hints of earthy sage, cedar and dried cranberry. A lovely dark cranberry in color, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir combines bright textures and juicy tannins with flavors of Bing cherry, red plum.

Fragrant notes of black cherry and mulling spice give way to rich juicy flavors of boysenberry a hint of espresso, and a savory richness on the palate. The dark fruit elements are enhanced by sophisticated nuances from the time spent aging in barrel.
